The compose view is where a draft report becomes your report.
Working through the drafts
Every block starts as a Draft. For each one you can:
- Accept it — it becomes Reviewed, attributed to you.
- Edit it — it becomes Revised, with your text and the original kept in history.
- Reject it — it leaves the report, and the reason is recorded.
The remaining queue is shown as a count of drafts still to review, so "is this report ready" has a factual answer rather than a feeling.
Writing your own
Add a finding, a table, a chart, a diagram or a callout anywhere in a section. Analyst-authored content is labeled Analyst so a reader can tell your judgment from a drafted statement you accepted.
Editing rules that are not preferences
- A citation cannot be edited into pointing somewhere it does not point. Change the claim, or change the evidence; you cannot re-aim a locator at a document that does not support it.
- A quotation stays a quotation. If a block quotes a source document, editing the quoted words turns a wording change into a misattribution. Paraphrase outside the quotation instead.
Working on it with colleagues
Blocks lock while someone is editing them, so two analysts cannot silently overwrite each other. Section-level locking is available where a section is finished and should not move.
Availability
Compose is part of the plans that include refine and author. On other plans the report is read-only: you get the drafted report and its exports, without in-place authoring.
