Benchmarks

Quartiles within your own portfolio, and a pooled comparison that cannot identify another firm's company.

Within your portfolio

Quartiles across your own linked companies, per measure: dependency currency, concentration of knowledge, release cadence, control coverage. This is the comparison that needs no caveats — it is your own data, and the companies are comparable because you chose them.

The pooled comparison

Beyond your own portfolio, a pooled comparison shows where a company sits against similar companies across the platform. It is deliberately blunt:

  • It is k-anonymous. A pooled figure is only shown when enough companies contribute to it that no single one can be inferred. Below that threshold, you see nothing rather than a number that leaks.
  • It reports position, not identity. You learn that a company is in the bottom quartile for dependency currency. You do not learn whose numbers formed the quartile, and no other firm learns yours.

Reading them honestly

A quartile is a prompt, not a verdict. A company can sit in the bottom quartile for release cadence for a perfectly good reason — a regulated release process, a deliberate freeze during a migration. The benchmark tells you where to ask.
