Review areas

A review area is one domain of the assessment — architecture, security, engineering practice, people and organization, product, operations, and the others your template includes. Each has:

  • Its own question library.
  • Its own rating contract: what has to be true for the area to be Good, what makes it a Warning, what makes it Critical.
  • Its own report section.

The rating contract is why ratings are comparable between projects and between analysts. "Warning" is not a mood; it is a defined position in that area's contract.

Templates

A template is a selection of areas and a depth:

  • Light Touch — fewer areas, headline questions. For a screening decision, or a target where technology is not the crux.
  • Deep Dive — the full question set, for a target where the technology carries the investment case.

Choose at project creation; you can widen later. Widening adds areas that start In Progress. Narrowing after drafting discards work, so start narrow.

Changing scope mid-project

Scope is a project setting. When you add an area, only the new area is researched — existing reviewed findings are untouched.

Firm-level configuration

Platform administrators can adjust the review area set and the question libraries for the whole workspace, so every project starts from your firm's methodology rather than the default. That is a platform-administration surface, not a per-project one.

Availability

Light Touch and Deep Dive are part of the plans that include advanced assessment templates. Other plans use the standard template, which covers the core areas.
